Exposed Spray Foam
Insulating your container with spray foam is the best way to avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and moisture issues on the inside. Spray foam insulation prevents the risk of hot air, cold air, and moisture from reaching your stored goods, and it lasts.
Spray foam is a great option if you’re storing products such as technical equipment, paper or dry goods. We offer 1 or 2 inches of spray foam insulation to the ceiling, or ceiling and walls of purchased new or used BigSteelBoxes of any size.
Plywood Wall Package
Our plywood package is a classic! Plywood is durable and has a great strength to weight ratio, which makes it stable for mounting things to it, like shelves and hooks.
Our plywood wall finish is a great option if you’re looking to use your modified BigSteelBox as a shed or a workshop on a work site. We use ½ inch spruce plywood, which stands up to wear and tear. Installing plywood walls is also a more cost effective option than vinyl, PVC and Smart Panel, and can be built in a shorter period of time.
Vinyl Wall Package
Please Note: Our Vinyl Wall Package is available in our standard office package, or in Ontario only for other custom modifications.
The vinyl wrapped drywall is a ½ inch sheet of drywall with a textured layer of vinyl glued to it. It comes in 3 different colours: cool white, platinum (grey), and silk.
We generally use the cool white colour for ceilings and silk or platinum for the walls. This is one of our more premium wall packages as we use both the drywall and the vinyl to make it extra tough. This is a great option for a finished office as it gives off a cubicle look.
PVC Wall Package

PVC is a great option for extra water resistance. We recommend this wall package if there is work being done with liquids or a potential spill risk inside your container, or if water will often be tracked in from the outside.
The biggest benefit of PVC walls is that it offers an impact resistant surface, plus there’s very little risk of rot or mold. PVC is easy to keep clean and maintain, and it’s lightweight, but durable and able to take abuse over the years.
Smart Panel Wall Package

Our Smart Panel Wall Package not only looks great but it’s just as durable as plywood.
It has a “barn board” appearance, which gives the interior of your container a “finished basement” look. It’s also very easy to paint, so you can control its finished look as well. Smart Panel Walls truly look like an extension of a home, which makes this a great option for an office, or even an additional living space.
